- Internal electronic compass as back up sensor – enables back up sensor to output heading even if the GPS signals are interrupted eg. boat passing under a bridge
- Highly accurate heading, position and speed data readily available. When connected with an echo sounder with heaving compensation function (eg.CVS FX-1), a stable sea bottom is acheived without the effect from wave and heave motion
